Not sure what awesomeness happened at Netflix Canada lately, but a heap of new movies came online today — 131 movies and tv shows by my count. If you're still avoiding Netflix because you've heard it has a bad selection, it's time to look again and ask yourself if it's worth the cost of two movie rentals per month. I sure think it is.
Some of the highlights from today's batch of video: Robocop (1, 2 and 3), Inside Man, The X-Files (the entire series), Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the entire series), 127 Hours, Fargo, The Great Escape, Hackers, Midnight Cowboy, Mr. Mom, Curious George, The Secret of Nimh, Star Trek IV and V, The Out-of-Towners, Six Degrees of Separation, Planes Trains and Automobiles, The Magnificent Seven, Black Hawk Down, UHF, Punch-Drunk Love, and Black Swan. And loads of movies I've never heard of that look terrific.
And despite some of the classics in there, what am I excited about showing the kids? "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo" — they haven't even heard of break dancing, and I just can't get behind that!
